Bar Maid Glass Polisher Tips and Tricks

Used correctly, your Glass Polisher will deliver sparkling glasses in seconds. For Best Results, after reading the instruction manual for set up…

  1. Install the four tall polishing heads on the outside stems. The shorter one goes in the middle.
  2. Start the Glass Polisher 5 to 10 minutes or so before use and run for 5 to 10 minutes after use. This will ensure warm, dry polishing heads.
  3. Start with a clean glass. The machine is designed to polish, not clean. Dry glasses take longer to polish. Slightly damp glasses will save time and yield better results. The high-speed blower will keep polishing heads dry.
  4. Turn on the Glass Polisher. Gently place a glass over the center polishing head. DO NOT LET GO OF THE GLASS. Move the glass up and down a few times.
  5. Check the glass. Extra damp glasses may require a little longer. After polishing, inside and outside should be dry, streak and spot free.

Important points:

  • The GP-100 polishes glasses but does not clean dirt, detergent residue, grease or lipstick. You must start with a clean glass.
  • Under counter washers sometimes leave detergent residue on glassware. If polishing heads are getting black tips or discolored, your glass washer should be adjusted.
  • Avoid hand contact with the Polishing Heads. Oils from hands will be absorbed and may cause poor results.
  • If glasses are very wet, place over a polishing head close to the blower to remove excess water, then polish as usual.
  • Washing the polishing heads regularly will yield best results. Use ONLY mild laundry detergent (like Woolite) and wash by hand or machine (on “gentle” cycle). Never use bleach. Rinse well and let dry.
  • To polish champagne flutes, please use accessory Polishing Head GP-554 available from your Dealer or Bar Maid Corporation.
  • Once a month, clean the lint screen on the bottom of the Glass Polisher.
